I didn’t set out to build a behavioral intelligence firm.
I set out to understand why smart, experienced, well-intentioned leaders kept making the same avoidable mistakes about their people.
And after 30 years and more than 600 coaching and training engagements, I think I know the answer.
It’s not that they don’t care. It’s not that they lack data. It’s that they’re acting on certainty they don’t realize is incomplete, confidence that feels so much like knowledge that it never occurs to them to question it.
The leader who’s certain a candidate is the right fit because they remind them of themselves. The manager frustrated with an employee because they’re convinced the employee thinks the same way they do. The executive who can’t figure out why their team isn’t gelling because they’re sure everyone wants what they want.
I’ve watched this pattern play out hundreds of times. And I’ve watched what happens when leaders learn to see past it.
They become better hirers. Better managers. Better coaches. Better leaders. That’s what Stop Guessing. Start Leading. was built to teach. And it’s what every assessment, every workshop, and every coaching conversation at Nast Partners is designed to support.
After three decades of coaching leaders, I’ve become less interested in giving advice and more interested in helping people see what they’re missing. Because once leaders see clearly, better decisions tend to follow naturally.
I’m a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), Certified Talent Optimization Consultant, and Predictive Index Certified Partner. But more than any credential, what I bring to every engagement is 30 years of watching leaders confuse certainty for clarity and helping them find a better way.
